4 Steps for Successful Social Advertising
There is a lot to keep in mind when creating a successful ad to use on social media platforms. You want to supply engaging content without sacrificing quality. So where to begin? Below are a few pieces of advice to get you started on creating a successful social ad.
- Think About Who You Are Targeting
This is the most basic of basics. You can’t create a successful ad if you don’t have an end game in mind. You must know who you want to target first, and then you can decide the necessary steps to reach that specific market. Creating buzz around a social ad is great, but if it’s the wrong kind of buzz coming from the wrong kind of people, then the ad is essentially useless. When creating an ad, it is necessary to plan, create and design one that targets your audience. There are a lot of different options to consider here: gender, age, demographics and so on. You don’t want to spend all your time creating and designing a killer ad only for it to flop because you skipped out on this first step. As much as you may want to go ahead to the fun part of design, stop here and really delve into your message and audience. Trust me, it will be worth it.
- Educate First and Sell Second
Generating likes and feedback is great for a social ad, but again, it needs to always have the business objective in mind. Also, it’s important to not only focus on sales. A good word of advice is to educate first and sell second. Creating content for the sole purpose of likes or sales won’t get the company’s mission across. Although it’s great to make your ad social and eye-catching, it’s necessary to stay focused and create compelling content that is geared specifically toward your business objectives and building brand awareness. Now, this is not to say that you can’t do something fun and different. By all means absolutely get creative with it. Just remember that each ad is a small representation of the brand, so make sure it has a clear, meaningful purpose.
- Keep it Simple with a Powerful Image
This piece of advice relates to the importance of creating content that is original and eye-catching. Sometimes it is effective to not post too many words for an ad because, let’s face it, our attention spans run a little short these days with everything we have at our fingertips. In many cases, you’re limited to the amount of content you can include. So sometimes the best ads are ones that say little but still carry a powerful message. The verbiage is important of course, but pictures are what initially stop the individual and get them hooked to learn more.
- Optimize for Mobile
In today’s world, this is a must. People are starting to use their mobile devices more than their desktops these days. It is extremely important that social media ads are compatible with all devices. Being that people are constantly scrolling through their newsfeed, it is essential that ads get their point across within the first 90 characters.
So there you have it – a few guidelines to help you get started with planning, creating and designing your ad. Remember, the heart of every ad is value. By taking the time to create value, you are taking the time to create a successful ad.
