Dorchester Paws strives to instill humane principles into society through the prevention of cruelty to animals. They are committed to ending unnecessary euthanasia and giving every animal a second chance; combating pet overpopulation by encouraging spaying and neutering; championing responsible pet ownership through public education; feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and protecting the abused; and reuniting lost pets with their families and finding homes for strays.
Georgetown County Diabetes CORE
Georgetown County Diabetes CORE (Community Outreach, Referral, and Education) mission is to increase awareness of diabetes and its related diseases and support diabetes health care by providing community-based resources for fitness and nutrition education, as well as helping people who are unable to access supplies and education for prevention and management.
From a summer camp that started in 2006, serving 14 children, Pattison’s has grown into a multi-faceted service organization that serves over 125 children each year with quality programming delivered throughout Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Through their partnership with the Charleston County School District, Pattison’s is able to operate the only K-12 public charter school in South Carolina that serves exclusively children with severe disabilities.
