People's Choice

The community will decide which one of these amazing CreateAthon finalists will receive the People’s Choice spot for TRIO’s 15th annual CreateAthon. Voting was open Monday, August 23 to Sunday, August 29, 2021. The nonprofit with the most votes will become the fifth and final recipient of our pro bono marketing services. AMOR Healing Kitchen

AMOR Healing Kitchen believes that food connects us. Its mission is to provide support and healing through healthy meals to those who are critically ill and to empower the next generation through education and service to make a difference. Recognizing that our youth have so much to offer in shaping the future of our community, AMOR strives to develop a sense of leadership, ownership and an unplugged connection to their community by employing them in the healing kitchen. The organization utilizes the abundance of local, organic farms in our area and believes that getting back to the earth for our food will help cure so many of our chronic diseases. I AM VOICES

I AM VOICES works to change the trajectory of the world on sexual violence by assisting survivors of abuse through life’s obstacles and aims to tear down the cycle of abuse for future generations. It provides support, education, mentorship, housing and resources to girls and young women, especially those affected by sexual violence, human trafficking, aged out of foster care and/or homeless. The organization creates transitional housing and support services for victims of sexual violence, whether they are coming from the American foster care system, a broken family or in a village in Nigeria and beyond. Its mission is to empower survivors to live fulfilling, successful and happy lives. The nonprofit encourages all people to lift their voices for their benefit and the benefit of others. Share Our Suzy Lowcountry

The founders of Share Our Suzy Lowcountry (SOS Lowcountry) created the nonprofit to honor the spirit of their dear friend Suzy McGrane. SOS Lowcountry supports breast cancer patients in South Carolina to focus on recovery and to help lift the burden of the financial stress brought on by their difficult battle. The organization helps patients cover the critical areas that insurance companies do not. Share Our Suzy Lowcountry’s goal is to assist and support breast cancer patients from diagnosis to remission by providing financial assistance to those with everyday needs such as childcare, gas cards, utility bill assistance, wigs, prosthetics, medication assistance and more!
