When considering expansion, we take pride in finding top creative talent and employing sharp minds that will help exceed our clients’ expectations. We are excited to introduce four new TRIO team members who are prepared to do exactly that – a web coordinator, graphic designer and two marketing interns. Meet them here:
Dave Bunting graced TRIO with his presence as a web coordinator beginning back in January. Originally from Dubuque, Iowa he has also spent time living in Chicago. Dave relocated to Charleston, SC in support of his wife’s new career as a nurse practitioner. Earning a bachelor’s degree in drama/speech from Clarke College in 2001, he is also a seasoned marketer with 10 years of experience, 5 of which have been specifically focused within the world of web.
Q: If you were stranded on an island, what things would you take with you?
A: An endless supply of beer, a hammock, and Heidi Klum (kidding… my wife!)
Q: What is your biggest fear?
Q: What is your favorite TRIO memory to date?
A: The day I was surprised with Chick-Fil-A and other treats. I had never had Chick-fil-a before!
Q: If you had to sum yourself up in three words, what would they be?
A: adolescent, random, passionate
Laurel Welch is our newest graphic designer. Born in Charleston, SC and raised in the Upstate, she is thrilled to have returned to her roots in the Lowcountry. Laurel attended Winthrop University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in visual communications. Full of talent, Laurel has completed several design projects that have proven her eclectic style and eye for detail will compliment the TRIO design team immensely.
Q: What three words describe you best?
A: Resourceful, quirky and observant
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world free of charge, where would you go?
A: Without a doubt, I would go to England. I’m a complete Anglophile, and very obsessed with British culture, especially the music.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: Crafting is my go-to activity. I’m always thinking about what I’m going to make next. I love creating accessories and fun décor items. Hiking is a very close second.
Q: What do you get excited about?
A: New seasons of Project Runway, beautifully designed product packaging and going out into nature.
Kellie Conner has assumed many roles since joining TRIO as a marketing intern. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2012 where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. Kellie is excited to be in Charleston, being that it has always been a dream of hers to live here. Her inquisitive personality and desire to accomplish any task set before her is sure to add great value to the TRIO team.
Q: Where can you be found on the weekends?
A: I can be found on the beach, in a kayak, or listening to live music.
Q: What is your life motto?
A: Live with intention, love others & always find the silver lining.
Q: If you could see any band (past or present) live in concert, who would it be?
A: The Grateful Dead, at Red Rocks Amphitheater (the greatest venue of all times).
Q: If you were a color, what would you be?
A: Purple. If everything in the world were purple, I would be completely satisfied.
Sallie Funderburk joins us as a social media intern. She is a recent graduate of the College of Charleston where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in media studies. No stranger to the coast, Myrtle Beach is where she calls home. Before joining TRIO, Sallie interned with the Athletic Department at The College of Charleston and Obviouslee Marketing. We are excited to have her on our team!
Q: Where will your next vacation be?
A: My next vacation will be to London, England this July to attend Wimbledon…(thanks Dad for the graduation present!!)
Q: If you could choose what to come back to life as, what would it be?
A: If I could come back and do something totally different, I would want to be on Broadway. I love entertaining my friends and family, so I believe singing and dancing on a big stage in NYC would be right up my alley.
Q: Who are your heroes?
A: My parents, because they are the strongest and most hard working people I know. I can’t thank them enough for all the sacrifices and blessings that I have been given in life from them.
Q: Where can you be found on the weekends?
A: I can be found… Day: soaking up the sun at the beach or playing tennis with my friends… Night: tearing it up with my friends at Mercury or Fish in downtown Charleston.
