Meet Team TRIO

As we embark on the start of this year’s CreateAthon, we thought we would start the day by introducing each of the team members (minus a couple of key partners who chose to be left out) that will be making the magic happen today.
Let’s start with the Queen Bee, Jessica:

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “Head marketing strategist…writing marketing plans, creative direction and helping everyone stay awake.”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: “During the 2008 Createathon, Hudson was one week old. Being able to stay involved (even if from home) with my little baby by my side was a pretty cool feeling.”
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “I enjoy Createathon because it’s a way we can all give back as a team and it’s a great way to bring our team closer together while doing something worthwhile.”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours: “Would it surprise anyone if I brought in some Earth Wind and Fire? :)”

Next up, she’s just Jennifer from the block:

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “marketing and PR strategist / DJ / dog walker”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: “working with Brad on the Fields to Families website ;)”
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “I just love that we’re all pulling together to make a difference (cheesy, but true!). Pretty cool knowing that the Trio crew, individually and collectively, believes in giving back and has the opportunity to do so through this exciting project. It really is an honor to be able to serve the nonprofits we work with each year and to be a part of something that can positively impact our community. Plus, who doesn’t love a slumber party?!?!”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours: “Ahhh…the list could go on for days but I’m sure there will be a few tunes by Franti, DMB, Snoop, Rage, Sublime, Pearl Jam…maybe a little Grace Potter and definitely some Prince (for the Dance Party, of course). If I have my way, we’ll toss in some Billy Joel and Doug E. Fresh for good measure. No doubt there will be medleys played from the 70s, 80s and 90s and Boss Lady will surely pump up the jams w/ Earth Wind & Fire at some point. She ain’t scurd. ”

…the radically talented Roxanne:

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “To create breath-taking design that captures the essence of our non-profits’ vision, mission and purpose. Hahaha, I make myself laugh. Though I will do what I just said. :)”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: “The morning after CreateAthon… ZOMBIES!”
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “To be part of the Trio team; it brings us closer. Plus seeing the smiles from our non-profits with our work makes it all worth it.”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours: “Whip Your Hair by Willow Smith, that’s right… She is 9. I will be whipping my hair in the wee hours, pretty sure.”

We can’t wait for you to .. Meet Virginia:

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “I work in Web services, so I’ll be working mainly on our website projects and assessments, as well as providing copy writing and editing support for other projects.”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: “I’ve only done it once before, so I’d have to say the work we produced during the hours of 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. :)”
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “It’s rare that we get to really focus on just a few projects. While the time is ultimately short, we produce so much, and are able to achieve true focus on the work that we do.”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours:“Kids Cudi – Pursuit of Happiness; Justice; Daft Punk”

The Baddest Blogger around, Jordan:

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “interactive/ social media galore and help with research and copy editing”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: “watching the trio pups wear out and fall asleep – leaving us to fend for ourselves. slackers.”
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “Pretty much just for the inevitable cupcakes that show up.
No – it really is unbelievable what this group can accomplish when they set out with the determination that accompanies the 24 hour challenge and the connections that come out stronger on the other side – both internally for the team and with the members of the community that are involved either via a nonprofit or those who drop in to support us. This will be my first year doing CreateAthon as a full-timer with the Trio team – and i’m thrilled to be back on board and ready to get busy and see what comes of the day.”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours: “I’m thinkin’ some SOJA, Janelle Monae, maybe a little Snoop (gangsta luv – what?)….always have to throw in some Franti and Pearl Jam.”

Keepin’ it all together, Kool Kenzie:

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “Marketing research, social media, and wherever else I can help!”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: A first-timer!
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “I’m very excited to work with the Trio team to do something good for those non-profits that are doing great work for our community! I love the CAT concept itself and it’s such a cool way to complete a lot of projects for 5 deserving non-profits in a very brief amount of time. Never having participated in CAT, I have no expectations going into it, but I know that it will be a very fun and rewarding experience!”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours: “Hmmm, a little Outkast perhaps? Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Kings of Leon, Prince (for sure, Jenn!), and who knows what else :)”

1. Your main role during CreateAthon: “intern extraordinaire/princess/whatever Jessica tells me to do”
2. Favorite past CreateAthon memory: “this is my first CreateAthon… yay!”
3. Why you choose to participate in the event: “I’ve loved this concept ever since I first heard about it a few months ago, and have been so excited to see it in action ever since. I think it’s great to be able to give back to non-profit organizations that are so deserving and so in need of some quality marketing work!”
4. What song(s) you plan to contribute to the on-going playlist to keep the team going in the wee hours: “Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Killers, old school 80’s & 90’s, Lady Gaga, Prince, Jack Johnson, James Taylor, and many more for whatever mood strikes me :)”
